Medical Facilities Working GroupTM
Project Mission:
The intent of the Medical Facilities Working Group™ (MFWG), founded in 2004, is to revisit the medical design field and begin to move it into a performance field and toward a future with an emerging new look at the medical environment and the behavior that it elicits. The current consumer of hospital design is paying for performance that is not usually attained and is operating under the assumption that building performance is part of the process, when it is not.
The current design process does not generally evaluate performance or human interface and makes little attempt to stimulate or correctly engineer comfort for the employee or patient. It is often repetitive from project to project.
